About Dan
Dan Lee is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator in Washington DC. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, he started playing cello in grade school and realized he was born with perfect pitch - the rare ability to identify pitch instantaneously. As a teen, he taught himself guitar and bass and started making home recordings in his bedroom. He went on to pursue his Bachelor's degree in Music Production/Engineering and Professional Music at Berklee College of Music. He is a classically trained musician with a broad range of musical influences.
Music
Dan has worked as a producer and touring musician. He has performed and recorded with bands and artists from all over the world. He has appeared all over North America as a solo act with an acoustic guitar and as part of ensembles adding bass, cello, guitar and voice.
Production
Dan currently runs his own studio and is available for session and voiceover work, video and audio editing, mixing and consultation. He is known for bringing intention, class, and professionalism to every project he works on. One of Dan’s truly unique skills is vocal editing: With his heightened awareness of pitch, he specializes in providing subtle and tasteful pitch correction that just sounds “right” - and not robotic.
Teaching
Dan is a gifted educator and has availability to teach and mentor a limited number of private music students specializing in guitar, bass and cello lessons. He takes the time to understand each student’s goals and tailors each lesson to their learning style. He has a calm and nimble teaching style and has a knack for integrating student requests in real time and teaching by ear.
